After losing back-to-back matches on the first day of the Davis Cup 2026 qualifiers round 2, India gears up for doubles action. The duo of Dhakshineshwar Suresh and Sriram Balaji will be taking on South Korea’s Jisung Nam and Uisung Park. The United States has approved a possible sale of 48 F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft to Saudi Arabia in a major defence deal estimated at $24.3 billion. The US Department of State announced the approval on Thursday (local time), allowing the proposed Foreign Military Sale to move forward. The package includes 48 F-35 aircraft equipped for conventional takeoff and landing, along with 49 Pratt & Whitney F135-PW-100 engines. Of these, 48 engines will be installed on the aircraft, while one will be supplied as a spare.

A Texas-based US military F-16 fighter jet crashed on Thursday during a training mission in Michigan in the US, however, the pilot was able to eject, the unit to which the aircraft belonged said. “A Texas Air National Guard F-16 Fighting Falcon assigned to the 149th Fighter Wing…crashed during a routine training mission” near Traverse City, the unit said in a statement on its Facebook page.
