In a significant development, the White House said that the United States is banning dairy products, most alcoholic beverages and motorcycles from Canada as the trade war between the two countries escalates. The White House further added that the ban will take effect in three weeks and comes after Canada imposed retaliatory tariffs on USD 20 billion in US imports earlier on Tuesday.

The United States destroyed five Iranian crude oil carriers near Kharg Island after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) twice targeted an American Navy warship with ballistic missiles over the past two days, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mumbai Zonal Unit, busted an international gold-smuggling syndicate operated by Chinese nationals and seized 691.870 grams of 24-carat gold worth approximately Rs 1.10 crore. Two people, including a Chinese national and a person managing the importing firm, were arrested under the Customs Act, 1962. 

The collapse of a five-storey building in south Delhi’s Satya Niketan that killed at least seven people has brought the spotlight on many illegal construction in the city, where an MCD survey in June identified 19 buildings as dangerous among nearly 28 lakh structures inspected. As pet the updates from the MCD, the building that collapsed on Sunday was constructed in the 1990s on a plot of around 55 square yards in a resettlement colony, and consisted of a basement and ground to the fourth floor.

Keneeshaa Francis has joined actor-producer Ravi Mohan’s upcoming Tamil film An Ordinary Man. The project marks Ravi Mohan’s directorial debut and will be backed by his production banner, Ravi Mohan Studios. The announcement comes four months after Keneeshaa announced that she and Ravi Mohan have parted ways.

The stage is set for a multi-format series between South Africa and Australia. The two sides are set to take on each other across three ODI matches and will follow it up with three Tests. It is interesting to note that the two teams will take on each other in the first ODI on September 24.
